The Tractor Barn

Recently awarded a 5* Gold rating by Visit Britain, Tractor Barn was completed on 27th May 2011 and is the latest addition to the barns at Barbaryball. Tractor Barn is our largest barn and sleeps six with three double bedrooms downstairs, the largest ensuite. We chose to build it "upside-down" as we wanted to use the upper floor for living/dining as it has a beautiful vaulted ceiling and wonderful views over the Thrushell valley.

 

Access to the barn is via two doors, one at ground and the other at first floor level. A beautiful Victorian spiral staircase built on Cornish Delabole slate tiles links the floors internally.



The original barn has been extended on the South side to provide the master ensuite bedroom and on the first floor this opens up into a sunny private patio accessed through french windows from the living room.

We have kept as many of the internal walls of the original barn visible (i.e. not cladded) and this combined with contemporary touches such as a modern corner wood-burning stove make for a very traditional yet comfortable space to live in. Floors downstairs are traditional Cornish slate and all of the internal walls have been plastered with three layers of traditional  lime plaster to provide a warmer feel.



As with our other luxury barns, Tractor Barn has underfloor heating upstairs and downstairs zoned for each room so that you can control the temperature wherever you are.

In addition to the patio area, Tractor has its own garden with a large tiered terrace built between traditional dry stone walls.
