Sylvia was very welcoming from start to the end of stay. Booking the barn was very easy and the process was quick too. On arrival, we were very pleased with the appearance of the barn. Took a night to get use to being downstairs and the living room and kitchen was upstairs. Set up within the barn was beautiful and had excellent views from all windows. Kitchen area was well equipped from baking utensils to wine glasses for the use in the hot tub. Barn was not cold even though Storm Dennis hit us hard. Shame the weather waste bad to use the outdoor facilities. Location of the barns was near to the A30 and good driving distance to nearby towns. For local food shopping, a trip to Strawberry Fields Farm Shop is a must. We will be definitely returning back to the barns even if its two of us using Tractor barn. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cow Barn. The cottage is very cosy and comfortable, well equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. Lovely welcome packages for both us humans and our dog. We all appreciated the fabulous outdoor space, all enclosed and very dog friendly. Like a home from home – only more luxurious, making our holiday all the more special and very relaxing. We were sad to leave. Big thank you to Sylvia who was so friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend and would love to return.

Devon Country Barns are fantastic, this is our 3rd visit and certainly won’t be our last. The place is so peaceful, it is the perfect venue for a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. The big bonus for us, apart from the fabulous hot tub, is that our dogs are welcome, we have 4 and finding somewhere as lovely as this that welcomes more than 1 is very rare. The barns are all really well equipped too and the welcome bottle of wine, eggs (fresh from the hens and ducks on site) and flowers are lovely little added extras (we also had ice and a lemon waiting for us because I’d mentioned we would need a gin and tonic by the time we got there (6.5hr journey for us, but well worth it!!), how nice is that! Already looking forward to our next visit.

Orchard Barn was beautifully warm and comfortable. We loved the homemade cake, eggs, teas, coffee and a bottle of champagne.
A lovely touch to find a wrapped present on the doorstep on Christmas morning.
Our dogs enjoyed exploring and playing on the fields around the barns and swimming/ retrieving from the little river and they settled really well.
Absolutely spotless and so well equipped.
Will be hoping to visit again soon.

The barn is extremely well presented and immaculate. It is equipped with everything you need and there is so much attention to detail including being decorated for Christmas which added to the whole experience. After a stressful week, it was everything we needed and more. Sylvia was very welcoming and is an excellent hostess. The cake on arrival was absolutely divine and it was the most perfect getaway. I could not fault anything.

Well yet again we have had a wonderful stay in Apple House. We relaxed as soon as we turned the key ! Devon Country Barns are situated in a lovely location with wonderful walks only a short car journey away. Sylvia & Kristian have taken over from Richard & Ute seamlessly, upholding their very high standards, which is very much appreciated when only away for a short break. We will be booking again for next year & if possible will try to get a sneaky quick break in later this year

Fabulous stay my husband and I and our dog Bayley had a wonderful time.  Cottage was perfect and hot tub fab.
Lovely family, would definitely recommend if wanting peace and quiet in lovely surroundings.  Nothing to much trouble.

We had a great holiday, Tractor Barn was excellent providing everything we needed and the surroundings were gorgeous. Such a lovely setting in a beautiful valley with the river a short walk away. We enjoyed exploring all the areas surrounding including a boat trip at Plymouth, visited Fowey, spoilt ourselves with Rick Stein’s fish and chips in Padstow, explored Dartmoor and had the best cream tea at Lustleigh’s amazing Tea Rooms. We enjoyed relaxing at Tractor Barn and the great hot tub too. Highly recommend Elephant’s Nest Pub food and the local Farm Shop and Café called Strawberry Fields. Sylvia was very welcoming and helpful and makes great cake plus we enjoyed the eggs, wine and apple juice. We fully intend to come back again when we can!!

Having just returned from a few days away in Devon and specifically at Devon Country Barns, I can honestly say how happy the stay has made us. After a difficult few months, time away from home was so welcomed and to do it in such a setting was truly wonderful. We stayed in Apple House which is beautiful, perfectly placed to overlook the lovely countryside all around the Barns especially from the comfort of the hot tub! We were incredibly lucky to experience the best weather of 2018 so far and we took full advantage to both explore the magnificent surroundings and also enjoy the cottage to the full. Both Ute and Richard are as welcoming hosts as you can get and their hospitality is second to none. We can’t wait for our next visit!
